These mints are made by a company called Red Tulip, which was purchased in the 1980s and which Cadbury recently bought in the 1980s. Nestlé is still showing the product on their website and they keep announcing that you can get mints in bulk for restaurants and hotels or even for wholesalers.

The original variety of sandwiches are individual candies coated in milk chocolate with a center of caramel and cookies. The fondant in the center is flavored with mint or may be flavored with another flavoring agent for alternative varieties. In 1995, the confectionery formerly known as Mintola (almost identical in appearance to Munchies, but which consisted of natural chocolate with a mint fondant background) was renamed Mint Munchies. There were similar candies called Munchems or Munchies from the same manufacturer and they came in a red wrapper, but they were cubes of milk chocolate with creamy caramel inside that surrounded a small and satisfying cookie.

Because After Eight mints are so thin, when chocolate blossoms, all layers of chocolate can become dusty, sandy and flaky.
